Nominator's project description
| Zhiyuan Zhong was awarded with the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award as one of the leading Chinese polymer scientists. Zhiyuan Zhong received the award for his outstanding research on self-assembling, bioresponsive drug carrier systems and his accomplishments regarding the conceptual extension of relevant strategies resulting in the development of novel biomaterials. His pathbreaking work forms an exceptional scientific basis for a future German-Chinese research cooperation on cross-linked micellar vesicles / polymerosomes and on multi-stimuli sensitive carriers for cell targeting and intracellular triggered release. During his stays in Germany, he already contributed to the new collaborative research center SFB 1112 and started a student exchange program. |
